Stand Up 8 is a charitable, non-profit foundation established in April by Kristi and Mark Berg, Jacqueline Denier, Edgar Jaro, Jim Gothers, and Lisa Taggart.
The name comes from a Japanese saying: “Fall down seven times and stand up eight.”
We are a group devoted to promoting fitness and health, in body and mind. We have projects in Redwood City and San Francisco.
At the Siena Youth Center, we've been coaching a team of youth and adult runners for four years.
In San Francisco, we guide fitness walks and group exercise at St. Vincent de Paul's Multi-Service Center, the largest homeless shelter in northern California.
Fall down seven times, stand up eight.
